In the Holy Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis, this collection of twenty-five texts of St Peter Julian Eymard helps us to contemplate this immense mystery of love which is fully revealed in Jesus Christ: “Mercy shapes his looks, his thoughts and all his actions”. It is in this “ocean of God’s mercy” that Father Eymard invites us to abandon ourselves with faith. “The mystery of mercy is a source of joy, serenity and peace”, Pope Francis reminds us. Also the voice of Father Eymard is certainly a valuable contribution.
This volume offers a collection of texts, taken from the preaching of Saint Peter Julian Eymard, for the Season of Advent and Christmas as well as for Lent and Easter. Father Eymard transmits us his faith, his reflections on the mysteries of our salvation, his pastoral concern to make the Liturgical Year an authentic spiritual journey, in order to help us grow in Christian life in communion with the whole Church.
