The Aggregation of the Blessed Sacrament is a public, universal and international association of Christ’s faithful affiliated with the religious Institutes founded by St. Peter Julian Eymard – the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament and the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament – and recognised by the Church.

It stems from the long tradition of our religious families which gave life to a ‘public association of lay faithful’ in order to share the same Eucharistic spirituality and mission with the laity drawing inspiration from St. Peter Julian Eymard.

Guided by the Project of Life their Christian vocation is to give witness to Christ in the midst of our human society and, starting from the Eucharist,  source and summit of all Evangelizing, try to permeate evangelically all human realities. Organised on an international, national, and local level, they take active role in the actions of the local Church in fostering solidarity, human dignity and holistic human development.

Aggregazione COur ideal

Our ideal is to live the mystery of the Eucharist fully and to make known its meaning, so that Christ’s reign may come and the glory of God may be revealed to the world. Answering our vocation received in baptism, we give witness to Christ in the midst of our human society and, starting from the Eucharist, source and summit of all Evangelizing, try to permeate evangelically all human realities. Spirit

Called to live an authentically Eucharistic Christian spirituality, we are animated by the spirit of love that led Christ to give his life for the world and to perpetuate this gift in the Eucharist. Associating ourselves to the gift that he makes of himself, we put ourselves at the service of the Kingdom in realising the Apostle’s words: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Gal 2,20). (PL 4)

The life of the Associates

The Eucharistic form of Christian living is ecclesial and communitarian. Following the example of the first Christian community, we live out the experience of brotherhood nourished by the Word, by the “breaking of Bread”, by prayer, and listening to the teaching of the Apostles. Living with “one heart and one soul” we witness to the presence of the Risen Lord. We make our own the demands of being associates through sharing in meetings of formation and prayer. (PL 5

The Eucharist at the centre of our life

The Eucharist shapes our lifestyle as individuals, as family members and as members of society. We endeavour to understand every reality in the light of this sacrament and we contribute to a Christian pervasion of our temporal realities. Through a programme of formation, we strive to acquire an ever more profound appreciation of the requirements pertaining to a Eucharistic life, in order to enhance the maturity of our faith and to qualify our being present in history and in the Church. (PL 6

Sharing in the mission of the Church

Welcoming Christ’s mandate to the apostles, we proclaim the Gospel and give witness to it with our lives. We invite all people to the communion with God, which we celebrate in the Eucharist. We collaborate with men and women of good will towards the upbuilding of a world of justice and solidarity. We are ready to assume lay ministries in liturgy, in the transmission of faith and in the pastoral structures of the church. (PL 12)

Service of charity and social commitment

From Christ, who in the Eucharist offers himself totally to us, we receive the inspiration and the strength for our service of charity and our commitment to transform society. We share in Christ’s mission of bringing the Good News of Salvation to the least and the excluded, to those oppressed by poverty, weakness, illness and hardship and to those who suffer persecution for the sake of justice. We take an active part in the actions of our local Church to foster solidarity, human dignity and the holistic development of men and peoples. We take our inspiration for this mission from the social doctrine of the Church.
