The Aggregation of the Blessed Sacrament of Turin going ahead

Our Aggregation is a group that is always going ahead with enthusiasm and constancy towards becoming more mature in the eucharistic spirituality of Father Eymard. Our Director, Fr Albino Valentini sss, has our formation very much at heart, in this way:

  • Every fourth Sunday of the month we meet for catechesis, communitarian adoration, evening prayer and Mass;
  • In Advent and Lent a spiritual retreat is held;
  • Every year he invites us for a retreat.

On 29 September in the course of a beautiful liturgy we joyfully celebrated the renewal of the 25th anniversary of fidelity to the Aggregation of the Blessed Sacrament “Guard of Honour” and on this occasion a silver monstrance was presented.

ABS Torino 2The Father Director, assisted by other SSS religious, prepares the new aggregates for the eucharistic spirituality of the Aggregation by providing: a knowledge of the Founder, St Peter-Julian Eymard, an explanation of the Rule “Project of Life”, the significance and value of adoration, and the life of being associates. On all this depends to a large extent what it means to be a family of the Blessed Sacrament with ‘one heart and one soul’ and witnesses to the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

On the Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe in the liturgy of commitment, the new aggregates were accompanied by the presence and prayers of the old aggregates, who had completed 25 years of belonging to the Aggregation, as well as the whole community. By pronouncing the words of the promise these became part of the Aggregation and were given the badge of the Aggregation and the Rule “Project of Life”. For all of us it is a great joy to be aware of how Jesus has called each one of us to a special grace, and this is a motive to be committed to faithfulness and gratitude every day.

Also in 2018 we have experienced moments of grace and festivity.

On 29 September we celebrated the aggregates who recalled and renewed their promise made 25 years ago and thanked the Lord.

On 25 November we joyfully welcomed 7 new aggregates and entrusted them to the grace of Jesus in the Eucharist, while wishing them a worthwhile journey towards discovering a true eucharistic spirituality in accord with Father Eymard’s gift.

On 16 December we experienced a retreat in preparation for the celebration of Christmas.

All occasions bring joy to all the aggregates’ hearts because all are involved and the grace of one becomes the grace of all, thus strengthening and bolstering the bond of belonging.
